PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Carroll Gordon performed all of the tasks listed above, starting with the Sports Facility Master Plan. The Board and Athletic Director were presented various approaches to a deteriorated sports field condition and chose two solutions for the most problematic areas at the High School:
The combined field hockey, soccer and softball field area was constructed years ago over wetland and had hardpan, flooding and standing water problems. After performing soil borings, the solution was to place the irrigated natural grass field over aggregate and a subsurface drainage system.
For the football/soccer premier field, artificial infill turf was chosen, with provisions for supplemental irrigation during games or practice in extreme hot weather.
The sports complex was further enhanced with new bleachers and a new concession stand.
