PROJECT DESCRIPTION
KS Engineers, P.C. (KSE) provided support for Construction Management and Construction Inspection services. The project consisted of widening of the existing sixlane New Jersey Turnpike from the vicinity of the mainline interconnection with the Pearl Harbor Memorial Turnpike Extension, commonly referred to as Interchange 6, to the southern terminus of the existing 10-lane, dual-dual roadway near Interchange 8A. Additionally, as part of the Program, the outer roadways of the existing 10-lane, dual-dual roadway segment between Interchanges 8A and 9 were widened by one lane in each direction. The approximate limits of the Program were from Milepost 48.7 to Milepost 82.6, totaling approximately 33.9 miles through 11 communities in three counties of Central New Jersey. This Program added approximately 170 lane miles to the Turnpike. Reconstruction of Interchanges 7, 7A, 8, and 8A is also being performed.
Construction Inspection on this project included excavation, embankment, drainage, electrical/highway lighting, guiderail, signage, overhead sign structures, subbase, milling, HMA paving, structure demolition, structure construction with excavation, piles, drilled caissons, foundation, substructure and superstructure construction, formwork and falsework, reinforcement and concrete placement, structural steel erection, HMA deck and parapet placement, and bridge structural electrical.
