As a part of the design team, KS Engineers, P.C. (KSE) performed design and construction support services for demolition of existing parking lot and construction of a new Parking Lot at the Terrance Riley Middle School in Elizabeth, NJ. KSE was responsible for the following tasks.
Site Survey
Project required site survey of the existing parking lot and perimeter of the school,
adjacent street, sidewalk area, fencing and existing drainage structures.
Parking Lot Design
The design of the parking lot including parking spaces, pavement markings, access and egress, traffic movements, pavement structure, new sidewalks, grading and drainage structures, light pole foundations and new chain-link fencing and gates. ADA requirements were investigated and satisfied in the design by providing two handicapped spaces with required signage. In addition, curb cuts from the street to the parking lot were provided to satisfy requirements. Project cost estimate, quantity estimate and
project specifications were developed.
